I am happy to proclaim the 2016 Circle City Tap Fest Faculty has been posted. You can check them all out by clicking on Meet the Faculty in the menu bar. (There may be one or two more added later so keep your eye out for further announcements!)
If you are a business owner and would like to rent space at the event or to advertise, please email me and I can let you know your options. Planning is well underway and I am hoping to have a schedule announced fairly soon. Of course there will be incentives for early registration and group discounts, so be sure to check deadlines and get signed up quickly. Last year we had a number of classes sell out.
Contact me if you are a studio owner/teacher that would like to bring a group of students. You may qualify for additional perks.
Thank you all for your ongoing support!
Welcome to my first blog! I figured if I was going to write about anything, it should be about something I am passionate about! TAP DANCING! Most importantly, I don't just want to share my own rambling thoughts, I would love to hear what the tap community has to say! Of all the forms of dance I have studied, the tap community (tap family) is by far the most supportive of one another. I would never have had the confidence to actually put together a festival had it not been for so many people encouraging me and then stepping up to help me make it all happen. Words and ideas are one thing, unconditional support and follow-through are a whole other issue! Here are just a few of the people that encouraged me, supported me, gave constructive criticism, offered words of wisdom, connected me to people that could help further my mission of bringing a tap festival to Indiana, etc...
(Please note, these names are in no particular order of importance!! All are equally amazing in their own way!)
Andrea Trimmer, Molly Sipes, Gregg Russell, Sarah Reich, Jenefer Miller, Suzy Guarino, Megan Maltos, Denise Caston-Clark, Kandee Thacker-Mann, Avi Miller, Ofer Ben, Claudia Rahardjanoto, Tristan Bruns, Chloe Arnold, Cindy Hsu, Deanna Garner, Barbara Duffy, Prof Robert Reed, Heather Cornell, Debbie Dee, and the entire Circle City Tap Company Family.
Here is where you, the member, comes in!
I want to hear from you! Have you ever been to a tap festival? If so, which one(s)? What did you like about it? What didn't you like? Who would you like to see on faculty? What types of classes would you like to take? Would you want an opportunity to perform in the Circle City Tap Showcase? Anything I am forgetting? I want to hear about it!
I look forward to hearing from anyone that would like to contribute!
